Logistics Planning Services (LPS) Has Been Certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as a Woman-Owned and Controlled Business

by LPS Insights, on December 5, 2016

MINNEAPOLIS, December 5, 2016—Logistics Planning Services (LPS) announced today that the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has certified the company as a woman-owned and controlled business.

The official certification comes after a six-month detailed analysis by WBENC in which it examined LPS’s business records and financials. WBENC is also an approved third-party certifier for the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program.

“As a woman-owned and woman-led company, we are proud to receive the WBENC certification, especially in an industry that’s male dominated,” said CEO Kirsten Castillo Hall. The certification will give LPS many more opportunities for growth within competitive supply chains. “WBENC is committed to connecting both corporate and government members with more women’s business enterprises,” she said.

While LPS continues to be recognized externally for its diversity achievements, the company is making similar inroads internally as well. “We have increased the number of women in our company to 33 percent,” said Hall. But there’s more work to be done; Hall wants half of all the company’s employees to be women. “We value diversity at LPS and look to continue to provide opportunities for women in leadership.”
